On a cloudy and gloomy December afternoon in Yosemite Valley, when days were short, nights were dark, and the days ahead lay in a fog of darkness where I could not see through in my own life, I looked up at the sky to find a fleeting moment of Magic: The clouds, slowly moving, encompassed the shoulder of Mount Starr King as it seemed to me to be an Isle in the Clouds.
